I had it done 3 years ago and regret not doing more research on it. The people who were teaching me about it were dressed like doctors, but they were obviously paid to be sells people. Being nieve I took their word for it.

After the surgery I was having problems with dry eyes, eye pains, migraines, and strabismus. When I confronted them about it everything didn't add up so I started doing my own research online and talked to two local optomatrist.

What I found out is that Lasik surgery has only been arround for a few years and nobody knows what the long term affects are. Also no matter who does the surgery and what technology they use, you will always end up with scar tissue on the muscles arround the eye, which can cause problems. Also the fact they try to minimize so you don't think its a big deal is that every person is taking a risk of losing their eye sight and/or life.

Everybody there kept telling me that I was a perfect candidate for the surgery. Later I found out that your not a candidate if your younger than 25 because thats when your eye sight will have stabilized. I was 20 when they told me that I was the perfect candidate.

And take into consideration I paid over $5k to get it done at the most experienced lasiks surgeon in the world, with the latest technology. (Dr. Boothe in Dallas)

Bottom line is Your body is even more important than your car or your house. Get several unbiased opinions and do your homework. There are other options to improve your eye sight naturally and with less risk and WAY less money.
References :
I had lasiks done 3 years ago

Warning! Don't let patient testimonials influence your decision to have LASIK. Do your own homework. The incidence of long-term dry eyes and night vision problems is high, and there are permanent adverse surgical effects in all eyes treated. See my channel and my website for medical studies which prove that LASIK is a harmful procedure.

It seems that the patient is learning that there is an extraordinary amount of metal in their eye. Cornea transplant is the only remedy the lasik profession seems to be able to come up with for this patient.

Finally a video that shows patients the problems with every Lasik procedure, problems with the flap, the permanent flap that never heals, but doctor's aren't telling patients this...many doctors have sold their sould to the Devil and spend more time swiping their credit card than for properly pre-screening patients...

the microkeratome wasn't an FDA approved medical device, its approval was grandfathered in when the FDA began approving medical devices as safe. not that it matters. the fda approved old lasers for treatments of levels of myopia and hyperopia that are no longer standard of care, meaning that the medical community recognizes that the FDA approved these devices as safe when they weren't. what a joke.
