When I went for Lasik consultations I think its about anywhere from 2000 to 4000 per eye. And I'm pretty sure insurance does not cover it anyway as its considered cosmetic. If its a matter of price or precision, I would go for the better recommended/reviewed doctor even if they cost more than franchise style dr's (lasik plus, tlc laser center) etc. Its your vision- dont mess around with it- find a good dr. go on at least 4 consultations and then make your decision.

$4000 is about right for most places. Best thing to do is to call some of your local Ophthalmology clinics, these are practices that have MD’s, and may provide surgery options. Many places do free lasik consultations, and will let you know if you are even a candidate. Also, if you wear contacts, they usually want you to wear glasses for several weeks before the surgery with no contact lens wear in order to properly reshape the cornea.
